Documentary filmmaker Ross McElwee sets out to make a movie about Union General Sherman's March to the Sea towards the end of the American Civil War, but keeps getting sidetracked by his own love life. Shifting his attention from the historical to the personal, SHERMAN'S MARCH is a landmark of first-person filmmaking that presaged everything from Michael Moore to reality TV. Originally premiering in 1986, this poster showcases the artwork for the 40th anniversary 4K restoration of the film’s theatrical release.
Music Box Films released the 4K restoration of SHERMAN'S MARCH in July 2026.
